A public radio network serving the Red River region of the South, encompassing northwest Louisiana, southern Arkansas, eastern Texas, and southeastern Oklahoma. The network operates six broadcast stations and one translator, providing coverage to one of the largest geographic regions served by public radio in the United States. Red River Radio is affiliated with National Public Radio and broadcasts numerous NPR programs including Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air, alongside specialized music and cultural programming. The network features both nationally syndicated shows and locally produced content. Local news coverage airs weekday mornings during Morning Edition, and the network pioneered a Community Correspondent program where residents gather and produce local stories for broadcast. The organization is headquartered in a renovated church building on the campus of Louisiana State University Shreveport. Operations are primarily funded by listener membership through pledge drives conducted twice yearly. The station increased its broadcasting capacity by utilizing HD Radio technology, with multiple streams including classical music and news/talk formats providing listeners with expanded programming choices throughout the day and night.
