A commercial classic rock station licensed to Gonzales, California, broadcasting on 104.3 FM to the Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Salinas area under the brand name "The Hippo." Studios are located in Monterey while the transmitter sits east of Salinas. The station carries play-by-play coverage of Las Vegas Raiders NFL games and airs the nationally syndicated program Alice's Attic with Alice Cooper on weeknights. The frequency has a varied history. In 1995 it operated as a Spanish-language station simulcasting KIEZ. It subsequently became home to alternative rock station KMBY before that format moved to 103.9 FM in 2002. In July 2019, Mapleton Communications announced the sale of its remaining station portfolio to Stephens Media Group, which assumed operations immediately; the transaction was finalized on September 30, 2019.
