A commercial radio station licensed to Ithaca, New York, owned by the Cornell Media Guild, a nonprofit organization composed of Cornell University students. Despite its student ownership and operation, the station functions as an independent commercial competitor in the Ithaca radio market, supported by advertising revenue and listener donations. It broadcasts an alternative rock format on weekdays and shifts to talk and variety programming on weekends. Studios are located on East Buffalo Street in the Collegetown neighborhood, inside a building named the Olbermann-Corneliess Studios following a ribbon-cutting ceremony in March 2014. The transmitter is sited on Hungerford Hill in East Ithaca. Community involvement is central to the station's mission: a twice-daily Community Calendar segment gives nonprofit organizations free on-air access to publicize events, and the station conducts remote broadcasts from the Ithaca Farmers' Market and local venues. Student and volunteer staff are largely unpaid, with some earning commissions on advertising sales or stipends during Cornell's off-calendar periods. The Cornell Media Guild also oversees Electric Buffalo Records and the Cornell Radio platform. The station carries the legacy of Bound for Glory, one of North America's longest-running folk music radio programs.
