A commercial radio station licensed to Gurley, Alabama, WHRP broadcasts at 94.1 FM and serves the Huntsville, Alabama market with an urban adult contemporary music format. The station is owned by Cumulus Media, with the license held by Cumulus Licensing LLC. Main studios are located in Athens, Alabama, while the transmitter sits southeast of downtown Huntsville. On-air personalities include Toni Terrell hosting midday programming under the At Work Network brand, Big O (known as The Mayor of Soul) presenting Classic Soul on Saturday mornings via a segment called The Time Tunnel, and radio veteran Kevin Williams on weekends. The station also carries nationally syndicated programs including The Tom Joyner Morning Show, The Michael Baisden Show, and The Keith Sweat Hotel. WHRP received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on January 19, 1995, and was initially assigned the call letters WDJU. The station changed ownership several times in its early years, passing through Digesu Broadcasting before being acquired by Griffith Broadcasting, and subsequently going through further transactions before landing with Cumulus Media.
