An AM station in Gary, Indiana, operating on 1370 kHz east of the Chicago metropolitan area. The station is owned by Michilliana Broadcasting, LLC and programs a format centered on soul music and African-American community talk radio. Programming includes locally produced talk shows addressing issues relevant to the northwest Indiana community, covering topics such as local news, health, and education. WLTH has served as a launching point for several notable broadcasting careers. Alumni include Steve King, who later worked at WLS and WGN; Felicia Middlebrooks, who had a long tenure at WBBM before retiring; Michael King, who moved to television at WXIA-TV; and Tommy Williams, who later joined WSCR. Dinahlynn Biggs hosted a popular program at the station for over 38 years, reaching an audience exceeding 500,000 listeners before the show concluded in June 2017. R. Veronica Williams also passed through WLTH before joining Chicago Public Radio's WBEZ and later Radio One Indianapolis. The station originally operated from Merrillville, Indiana, before relocating in September 2013 to its original licensed city of Gary, operating from 478 Broadway. A subsequent move placed the station at 115 West 5th Avenue in 2016. In addition to over-the-air broadcasting, the station also streams live audio and offers video streams via Twitch.
