A commercial FM radio station serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex on 102.9 MHz, owned and operated by iHeartMedia. The station broadcasts a hot adult contemporary format, with studios located along Dallas Parkway in Farmers Branch and a transmitter site in Cedar Hill. The station's history spans several decades and formats. It first signed on as KQRO on October 15, 1960, initially broadcasting classical and orchestral music before going silent and returning in 1962. In 1965, following its purchase by Elkins Institute of Radio and Electronics, it became KEIR and was used as a training facility, broadcasting a middle-of-the-road easy listening format from a studio in downtown Dallas. In 1971, the call letters changed to KDTX with a religious programming format. The station subsequently adopted Christian contemporary programming under the KMGC call letters until September 1977. Over the following decades, the station cycled through additional ownership changes and format shifts before arriving at its current identity as KDMX. The station's studios are addressed in Dallas despite being physically situated in Farmers Branch, a suburban city within the metroplex.
