An AM radio station licensed to Jefferson City, Missouri, broadcasting a news and talk format under the brand Newstalk 1240 and serving the Columbia, Missouri area. Owned by Cumulus Media, the station carries programming from ABC Radio and Westwood One, as well as a roster of nationally syndicated hosts. First licensed on February 9, 1937, as KWOS on 1310 kHz, the station has operated through several frequency reassignments and ownership changes. It moved to 1340 kHz in March 1941 following the implementation of the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement, and was later reassigned to its current 1240 kHz frequency. The KLIK call letters were historically associated with a different 950 AM property in the Jefferson City area before being applied to the 1240 frequency in 1999. An FM translator at 103.5 MHz (K278CT) has extended the station's reach since late 2018. Programming includes local news produced in partnership with sister station KFRU 1400 AM in Columbia. Sports coverage is a significant component, with the station serving as the local home for Westwood One's NFL broadcasts and selected NCAA football and basketball programming, as well as NASCAR Cup race audio from MRN and PRN. The station also airs The Closers, a regional sports program simulcast with KFRU.
