An independent, non-profit, student-run freeform college radio station licensed to the Trustees of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, broadcasting at 88.7 FM with 270 watts of power. Founded in 1941, it is the only radio station in the town of Clinton and serves the broader Utica area and Mohawk Valley. The station operates in a freeform format that has remained consistent since its founding, with a weekly schedule built from student, faculty, and community member shows, typically running on the hour in one- or two-hour blocks. Programming encompasses an unusually wide range of genres including indie, hip-hop, world music, country, and metal, alongside talk programs covering sports, politics, pop culture, culinary topics, and lyrical analysis. Faculty-hosted programs draw on academic specializations, incorporating subjects such as Latin music and theatrical drama. One long-running community fixture is "Saturday Polka Review," hosted by Gary Sroka, which relocated to WHCL in late 2015 after its former home station shut down.
