Operating at 1490 kHz, this AM station is licensed to Decatur, Alabama, and serves the western Huntsville market with a Regional Mexican format. The station traces its history to the early 1960s when it operated as WAJF with a Top 40 format and featured a roster of local on-air talent. In the 1970s it carried the CBS Radio Mystery Theater. After struggling through the decline of AM radio, it passed through several owners and call signs — WAJF, WDPT, and WEKI — and aired a Christian talk simulcast before adopting its current format and call letters WIEZ. During the fall semester the station carries Austin High School football on Friday evenings.
