A commercial mainstream rock radio station serving the Morris County area of Northern New Jersey from studios in Cedar Knolls. The station was among the first FM outlets to begin stereo broadcasting within a year of its 1961 sign-on from one of the highest peaks in the region. Originally starting with classical music programming, the station gradually evolved through adult contemporary and soft rock formats before establishing itself as a full-time rock station by 1980. In 1984, it gained distinction as the world's first radio station to broadcast compact discs. The station maintains a playlist balancing classic rock from the 1970s and 1980s with active rock from subsequent decades, establishing itself as a consistent top-rated outlet in its market. Currently owned by Beasley Broadcast Group, the station broadcasts in HD Radio with multiple sub-channels while maintaining local live programming.
