All major Northeastern athletic events including hockey, basketball, and baseball games are broadcast live. The station was among the first college radio outlets in the country to embrace hip-hop music during the early 1980s. Originally launching as a carrier-current station limited to dormitory reception, the station expanded to full FM broadcasting and has served as a training ground for professional broadcasters and media personalities throughout its history.
