Takeover Radio 106.9 FM

Takeover Radio 106.9 FM is a community radio station for Sutton-in-Ashfield and the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire. It broadcasts on 106.9 FM, streams through its official website, and carries variety programming in English for a core audience of 13-to-25-year-olds. The station specialises in giving children and young people direct involvement in radio broadcasting, including editorial control and live presenting. The Sutton-in-Ashfield service grew from Takeover Radio’s wider youth-radio project and went on air in January 2010 after Sutton Community Academy, backed by Takeover Radio in Leicester, received an Ofcom community radio licence. Its weekday service includes news bulletins, with weather, traffic, and local-event information through the day.
