Bio Bio Comunicaciones S.A. is the company behind Radio Bío-Bío, Chile's most prominent independent radio network. Founded in 1966 in Concepción by Nibaldo Mosciatti, the station began as a local broadcaster and has grown into a nationwide network with 15 stations operating on over 40 frequencies across the country.
Radio Bío-Bío is renowned for its news coverage, operating eight autonomous newsrooms throughout Chile. The station played a significant role during the 1973 coup and throughout the subsequent military dictatorship, maintaining its editorial independence. Today it remains Chile's most-listened-to news and talk radio station.
The company expanded into digital media through BioBioChile.cl, which has become one of Chile's most-visited news websites. The digital operation has built a massive social media following, with over 2 million Instagram followers and nearly 4 million Facebook followers, making it one of the largest media communities in the country. The network also operates local television channels in several regions.
