A Navajo language radio station licensed to Window Rock, Arizona, the governmental seat of the Navajo Nation, broadcasting at 660 kHz with 50,000 watts. Programming centers on Navajo tribal music, audio from Navajo ceremonial dances and powwow events, and Native American music, alongside country music and bluegrass in English. Most on-air staff are bilingual, conducting broadcasts in both Navajo and English. The station also carries high school basketball games from schools across the Navajo Reservation. KTNN signed on in 1986 and at that time claimed to be the last station permitted to launch at full 50,000-watt power sharing a clear-channel frequency with another station. At night, the station employs a directional antenna to protect the signal of WFAN in New York City, which holds Class A status on 660 kHz. KTNN holds Class B status on that frequency. Programming is also simulcast on KTNN-FM at 101.5 MHz in Tohatchi, New Mexico.
