Licensed to Troup, Texas, this commercial FM station broadcasts at 97.5 MHz and serves the Tyler-Longview market in East Texas. It simulcasts a talk format alongside its AM sister station KTBB 600, with both properties owned by Paul Gleiser through licensee ATW Media, LLC. Studios are located in the Woodgate Centre office building in Tyler, while the FM transmitter is positioned on County Road 246 South. The station's origins date to July 1, 1981, when it signed on as KWRW at 97.7 MHz, licensed to Rusk, Texas, and owned by Texas State Representative Emmett Holman Whitehead. The early years featured a full-service format including adult contemporary music, specialty shows, sports, and news in simulcast with AM sister station KTLU 1580. An FM translator at 103.9 FM, licensed as K280CL in Palestine, extended coverage beyond Cherokee County beginning in 1985. Following Whitehead's death, the station transferred to The Cherokeean Herald newspaper before being purchased by Paul Gleiser in March 2015. A frequency move from 97.7 to 97.5 MHz was approved by the FCC as part of relocating the facility from Rusk to Troup. The current KTBB-FM branding launched on May 15, 2015, aligning the FM station with the long-established KTBB AM brand in the Tyler-Longview market.
