An urban adult contemporary station with significant local historical importance. Founded in 1988 by Emmie Jo Gamble, a math teacher and entrepreneur, it became the first Black-owned radio station in Arkansas. The station has maintained its format and community focus through multiple ownership changes. In 2017, the station's parent company achieved a notable milestone when ownership was granted to an Australian citizen—a first-of-its-kind FCC waiver allowing non-American national ownership of a U.S. broadcast station. The station operates from studios in the twin cities area and continues to serve the regional market with consistent programming.
