Cette station de radio offre une programmation variée.
A non-commercial educational FM station located on the UC Santa Barbara campus, operating at 91.9 MHz with a signal reaching as far south as Los Angeles County and as far north as San Luis Obispo, California. KCSB is programmed and managed by UCSB students and community volunteers, with an educational mission focused on teaching the fundamentals of radio broadcasting and providing a platform for independent and alternative content. The station was founded in 1962 by student Bill Harrison under the name Navajo Radio, broadcasting from Navajo Hall in the Anacapa men's dormitory at just 5 watts. It became the first University of California station to receive an FCC license. The station changed frequency in 1976 and expanded its wattage in 1964 and 1983. On April 18, 1970, KCSB was shut down by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office during the Isla Vista riots, the only documented instance of a police agency shutting down a radio station in the United States. In 1989, the station became the subject of national attention when volunteer host Sean Hannity was dismissed after a guest made offensive remarks; the ACLU defended the case, and the station offered Hannity his time slot back, which he declined. KCSB celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012 and continues to feature eclectic programming including music across genres, news coverage, and community-oriented content.
