It is owned by Pamal Broadcasting. The station was assigned the call sign WHWB-FM on March 18, 1969, signed on March 25, 1971, and was formally licensed on May 4 of that year. On August 24, 1984, it adopted the WJJR call letters. During the late 1980s it operated as "Easy Contemporary JJR" under an easy listening format mixing instrumental arrangements of popular songs with soft adult contemporary vocals. In 1991, the station's studios served as a filming location for scenes in the science fiction film Time Chasers. Current weekday programming features a morning show with host Tom Moore, running from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The station maintains a community events calendar and a VIP club membership program. It serves as a local information and entertainment resource for Vermont's Rutland County and the broader Upper Connecticut River Valley region.
