The station operates from studios located at Seacrets, a large restaurant and entertainment complex situated along Assawoman Bay in Ocean City. Programming features an eclectic blend of rock, reggae, and contemporary hits, drawing comparisons to a college radio format in its breadth and independence. The station is owned by Leighton Moore, who also founded Seacrets in 1988, and is managed by David "Bulldog" Rothner, host of its long-running morning program. WOCM holds a notable place in internet radio history as one of the first independent stations in the United States to broadcast a live video stream of its on-air talent and visiting performers directly from its website. The station originally signed on at 97.9 FM under the call letters WSBL from Selbyville, Delaware, with a country music format before transitioning to its current identity.
