A commercial FM radio station broadcasting on 104.7 MHz under the brand "B104.7," licensed to Manhattan, Kansas, and serving the Manhattan-Topeka-Salina area. The station is owned by Manhattan Broadcasting Co., Inc., of which it is the third member. KXBZ traces its origins to a construction permit issued as KTDF on May 3, 1990. The station signed on in August 1994 with its current country music format and "B104.7" branding, marking the first country music station directly targeting the Manhattan market and the first country format station on FM in that area. At the time of its launch, the nearest country music station to Manhattan was KJCK on the AM band. The station changed its call sign to KXBZ on September 30 of that year. The station serves a regional audience that includes the Kansas State University community and surrounding agricultural communities of the Flint Hills region. Programming is complemented by local news coverage provided in partnership with sibling news station KMAN, which supplies regional journalism covering Manhattan and surrounding Geary, Riley, and Pottawatomie counties.
