A noncommercial Christian radio station licensed to Lapeer, Michigan, serving the northern suburbs of Detroit and the Flint area. The station first signed on December 6, 1926, broadcasting from a homemade transmitter in the Methodist Protestant Church of Lapeer, making it one of the oldest continuously operating Christian stations in the United States. In the 1930s it operated on 1200 kHz as a share-time station with only 100 watts of power. Under the 1941 North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement, it moved to 1230 AM. Ownership of the station has remained with the same church body throughout its history, with the church evolving from the Methodist Protestant Church to the Liberty Street Gospel Church and ultimately to the Calvary Bible Church of Lapeer, which holds the license today. The station has had only four managers across its nearly century-long history. In the 2000s, an FM translator was added at W295CT 106.9 MHz for listeners preferring FM reception. Programming features a schedule of local and nationally syndicated Christian teaching programs, with hosts including Chuck Swindoll, John MacArthur, and David Jeremiah, interspersed with Christian music. Children's programming such as Adventures in Odyssey is also part of the lineup.
