À propos de WKSN 1340 AM

A commercial AM radio station broadcasting at 1340 kHz, licensed to Jamestown, New York, and owned by Media One Radio Group. The station carries an adult standards format, featuring music primarily from the 1940s through the 1970s, and operates largely through an automated library without on-air disc jockeys outside of syndicated programming. Regular features include "Intelligence For Your Life" with John Tesh, as well as local news and community information. The station also serves as a local affiliate for the Cleveland Guardians Radio Network. The station first signed on in 1948 under the call letters WJOC, filling a frequency vacated when Buffalo's WEBR moved from 1340 kHz to 970 AM. After operating briefly as WXYJ in the mid-1960s, it adopted the WKSN call sign and "Kissin'" branding by 1968. For much of its early history the station ran a Top 40 format under the "Good Guys" slogan. During the 1990s and into the early 2000s, it shifted to an oldies format, branded "Kissin' Oldies," carrying local morning programming alongside satellite content from Jones Radio Networks. Media One Group acquired the station in 2003, initially using it as a counterprogramming vehicle against sister station WJTN, broadcasting conservative talk programming including Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Bill Bennett. The station's format eventually transitioned to its current adult standards presentation, which draws on an extensive automated music library curated from the mid-twentieth century era of popular American music.
