The station is owned by Great Country Broadcasting, Inc. and holds FCC Facility ID 24945. KIBS-FM has a discontinuous history: the station originally signed on in 1967 before going dark in 1969. John Young subsequently acquired KIBS-AM in 1985 and later purchased KIOQ-FM in Bishop, at which point the KIBS call letters were transferred to the FM frequency at 100.7 MHz, establishing the current configuration. The station serves the Bishop area and the surrounding Owens Valley region of eastern California.
