This community radio station, established on August 15, 2016, exclusively serves the fishermen community. Operating 24/7 since September 1, 2019, its programming aims to raise awareness about local issues and disseminate information on government schemes. The station's motto is "For the people and by the people." Its broadcasts reach a 15 km radius, covering approximately 1.2 lakh people across several administrative divisions. A primary focus is providing critical, timely information to fishermen at sea, including weather updates, cyclone warnings, and disaster alerts. The station also designs everyday programs to assist fishermen before they set sail and while they are fishing. It endeavors to improve the livelihoods of the region's inhabitants, with a particular emphasis on underrepresented groups such as women, young teens, and transgender individuals from backward communities. Recent initiatives have centered on promoting sustainable livelihood methods like seaweed collection, ornamental fish farming, and crafting items from seashells, reflecting a vision to preserve the Gulf of Mannar biosphere reserve ecosystem. The station actively encourages community participation in addressing hardships and issues. In December 2019, the Station Director received an award for influential youth for community service. In March 2020, the station maintained its 24/7 service during a nationwide lockdown. An award for fishermen who release endangered sea turtles was initiated in February 2021.
