A non-commercial radio station located in Unalaska, Alaska, broadcasting on 89.7 FM. The station signed on in October 2008 as a successor to KIAL 1450 AM, which had previously been owned by the municipality of Unalaska. Following municipal budget cuts, the operation transitioned to an independent nonprofit structure reliant primarily on individual donors. The move from the AM dial to FM also allowed for a stronger signal than the original 50-watt AM transmitter.
