A commercial FM radio station operating on 94.7 MHz under the brand "Z94.7," broadcasting a Top 40 Contemporary Hit Radio format from Grand Forks, North Dakota. The station is owned by Leighton Broadcasting and is licensed to Thompson, North Dakota. Its on-air schedule and personalities closely mirror those of Leighton sister station KCLD-FM, including morning programming through Playhouse Mornings with Kat and JJ Holiday, midday programming with Alayna Jaye, afternoon programming with Derek Lee, and the syndicated nighttime program Liveline with Mason Kelter. The station first signed on October 17, 1971 as KYTN, initially broadcasting a beautiful music format as "Kitten 95." It transitioned to adult contemporary as "Lite Rock 95" in 1980 before flipping to a CHR/Top 40 format as "Y95" in May 1984. The station subsequently adopted album-oriented rock as "Power 95" under the KNOX-FM call sign in 1988, then moved to oldies as "Kool 94.7" in 1990. A satellite-fed classic country format as "Real Country 94.7" followed in 1995, succeeded by a locally originated classic country format as "The Rooster 94.7" in 2002. The station returned to rock in September 2007 as "Power 94.7" with a classic rock format, then rebranded as "94.7 Rocks" in December 2009 with added 1990s rock programming. In August 2010 the station briefly stunted with a Christmas music format before launching its current CHR/Top 40 format as "Z94.7" on August 25, 2010, simultaneously changing its call sign from KNOX-FM to KZGF.
