A non-commercial FM radio station licensed to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and owned by John Brown University, broadcasting a Christian adult contemporary format to audiences across Northwest Arkansas, Eastern Oklahoma, and Southwest Missouri. The station simulcasts on KLAB at 101.1 MHz in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and reaches additional areas via FM translators at 99.1 K256BG in Bentonville, 101.1 K266BS in Van Buren, and 103.5 K278BG in Springdale. KLRC operates at 100,000 watts effective radiated power, the maximum permitted for non-grandfathered FM stations. The transmitter is located on North 4670 Road in Dripping Springs, Oklahoma, while studios and offices are on North Broadway in Siloam Springs. The station signed on October 1, 1983, as a 115-watt outlet at 90.3 MHz, initially serving the John Brown University campus as a training facility for broadcasting students and carrying both Christian radio and classical music programming. The FCC approved a power increase to 3,100 watts in 1988, at which time the frequency was changed from 90.3 to 101.1 MHz. Steady audience growth through the early 1990s led to expanded operations, and in January 1996 the station began broadcasting 24 hours a day. A live internet stream was launched in September 2000. The station and its simulcast partner rely on periodic on-air fundraisers for operational support. Programming includes a morning show, multiple podcasts, a prayer wall, a community event calendar, and a non-profit organization database.
