A non-commercial, volunteer-operated low-power FM station licensed to Rockland, Maine, broadcasting continuously since Valentine's Day 2002 following a construction permit granted in March 2001. The station is entirely run by community volunteers and carries no commercial advertising, programming rhythm and blues, electronic music, rock, and various talk shows reflecting the interests of its volunteer staff. The station was formerly rebroadcast in nearby Camden on translator W257BI at 99.3 MHz, a relay that ceased operation in January 2022 when its license was surrendered to the FCC. WRFR-LP operates around the clock, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Programming includes the LGBTQ-focused podcast Thinking OUT Loud, roller derby coverage, local music programming, and content produced in partnership with the Maine Community Radio League, a coalition of low-power stations formed in 2025 that share programming across member stations throughout the state. The station's eclectic schedule reflects the independent character of community radio, with individual volunteer hosts shaping their programs according to personal curatorial perspectives.
