A commercial AM radio station broadcasting on 1460 kHz, licensed to Rantoul, Illinois. Broadcasting under the brand name "Radio Variedades," the station operates a Spanish-language variety music format and directs its programming toward the Champaign, Illinois, listening area. It is owned by Ruben's Productions, Inc. The station was established in 1963 and has operated continuously since, serving the Spanish-speaking community in the Champaign-Urbana metropolitan region. The WKJR call sign was assigned by the Federal Communications Commission on September 29, 2006. The same call letters were previously used by a now-defunct AM station at 1520 kHz in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, though the two stations share no operational connection.
