A public radio station licensed to the Board of Trustees of the University of West Florida, operating at 100,000 watts non-directional from a 1,000-foot (300 m) tower in Midway, Florida. The station serves as the official Emergency Alert System broadcaster for the surrounding metropolitan area and holds memberships in National Public Radio, Florida Public Media, the Florida Public Radio Network, American Public Media, and Public Radio Exchange. Operating in Hybrid Digital (HD) mode, the station multicasts across three separate channels available to HD radio receivers. The primary channel carries a wide variety of network public radio programs alongside locally produced content, including Acoustic Interlude and RadioLive, both of which have attracted national and international audiences through the station's internet streaming service. The second HD channel launched a classical music format in January 2011, while the third HD channel, introduced in September 2011, carries Sightline, a radio reader service for the visually impaired that provides 24-hour readings of the local newspaper and content from the Gatewave reading service. Sightline is also carried on the secondary audio program of the PBS television affiliate. In addition to radio services, the organization operates a television station that is available on local cable systems. All three program streams are available simultaneously via the station's website for online listeners.
