A low-power FM community radio station licensed to Occidental, California, operated by KOWS Community Radio and serving Western Sonoma County. The station was assigned its KOWS-LP call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on September 22, 2005. Its original licensed frequency was 107.3 FM, which was later changed to 92.5 FM in May 2017. The transmitter and antenna are positioned along the Highway 12 corridor just southeast of Freestone, California. Studio facilities have moved several times since inception. Broadcasting initially began from the second floor of Howard's Café in Occidental under the umbrella of the non-profit Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, with an antenna mounted atop a Douglas Fir tree on the OAEC property. The studio relocated to downtown Occidental, then to a classroom at the Methodist Church in Sebastopol in 2015. In 2017, the antenna was moved from the OAEC site to private property adjacent to Highway 12. The studio moved again on February 1, 2019 to its current location in downtown Santa Rosa, near the Cherry Street Historic District. In addition to its terrestrial broadcast, the station maintains a continuous 24-hour streaming presence accessible via its website and third-party platforms including Radio Garden, TuneIn, Radio Box, and Radio Rethink's AirPocket mobile player. Programming includes shows such as Moon Over Bohemia, Blues Bytes Radio, and The Barnaby Druthers Mystery Hour.
