A commercial FM radio station licensed to Hartford City, Indiana, broadcasting at 93.5 MHz and serving the Muncie-Marion market. The station operates a classic rock format under the brand name 93-5 MAX and is owned by Woof Boom Radio Muncie License LLC. Evening programming includes the nationally syndicated Nights with Alice Cooper. The station also serves as an affiliate of the Indianapolis Colts NFL franchise. The station's history dates to 1965, when it was assigned the call sign WWHC. It operated as WWWO from January 1986, adopting a rock format, before changing to WHTY in June 1999. A construction permit for a Hartford City FM station was originally issued in the late 1960s but never came on the air due to financial difficulties at the predecessor broadcaster, leaving the frequency dormant until 1986. On July 13, 2009, the station changed its call sign to WMXQ as part of a coordinated rebranding with sister station WHTI, which became WMQX, both adopting the MAX format identity. In June 2014, WMQX 96.7 departed the simulcast arrangement to adopt a country music format as 96.7 Blake FM, leaving 93.5 as the sole MAX-branded outlet. The morning show, the MAXimum Music Morning Show with Brian Casey, features listener interaction segments including a daily head-to-head song matchup called Casey's U Call It, where listeners vote between two classic rock tracks.
