The station was established in 1970 by local entrepreneur Frosty Mitchell and former state governor Robert D. Ray, with current ownership dating to 1977. Programming includes news updates, weather forecasts, grain and livestock market information, and play-by-play coverage of regional preparatory athletic competition. The broadcast transmitter is located on Oakland Mills Road with a 343-foot tower structure.
