An oldies and classic hits commercial radio station serving the New Orleans area, licensed to Galliano, Louisiana, and broadcasting at 94.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts. The station is locally owned by Michael A. Costello under the corporate name Fleur de Lis Broadcasting, with studios in Metairie and a transmitter near Myrtle Grove, Louisiana. Its heritage call letters pay tribute to WTIX 690 AM, a legendary Top 40 station that dominated New Orleans radio from the 1950s through the 1980s and is recognized as one of America's earliest Top 40 outlets. Costello, who previously served as program director and morning host at WRNO-FM from 1976 to 1991, acquired the former country music station KLEB-FM from the Callais family in 1995 and converted it to the current classic hits format. The station's programming spans music from the late 1950s through the early 1980s, with particular emphasis on the 1964 to 1980 era. Each morning features a spotlight on a specific artist tied to a birthday or historical event in music history, while every Thursday is designated "Beatles Thursday." Sunday mornings include "Breakfast with The Beatles" from 8 to 10 a.m., followed by vintage episodes of Casey Kasem's American Top 40. The station continues several signature elements from the original WTIX AM, including classic jingles from the 1960s and 1970s and the "Chime Time" feature, in which a chime sounds whenever on-air personalities announce the time—a tradition also associated with Musicradio WABC in New York during its peak years. Costello serves as general manager, program director, and morning show host.
