Broadcasting at 1700 kHz, this commercial AM radio station is licensed to Haverstraw, New York, and serves Rockland County with a conservative talk radio format that includes a WABC simulcast. The station is owned by Alexander Broadcasting, Inc., with studios and offices located at 144 Ramapo Road in Garnerville. It is in the process of being acquired by WABC owner Red Apple Media. During daytime hours, the station operates at 10,000 watts non-directional. At sunset, it reduces to 1,000 watts to avoid interference with other stations sharing the frequency. The transmitter is situated at South Mountain Park. Weekday programming includes a local news and call-in morning show called The Morning Show with Jeff and Will. The remainder of the broadcast day features adult contemporary music and brokered programming. The station is an affiliate of USA Radio News and carries New York Boulders minor league baseball games. The station holds significance as the only English-language outlet providing news and information specifically focused on Rockland County. The neighboring WRKL at 910 AM in New City simulcasts Spanish-language Christian programming. The station signed on September 1, 1965, initially as WRRC, and later used the call signs WKQW and WGRC.
