A radio station broadcasting on 1370 kHz AM, licensed to Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and serving the Reading area and the northwestern portions of the greater Philadelphia metropolitan market. The station is owned by the Four Rivers Community Broadcasting Corporation. WPAZ signed on in 1951 under the ownership of the Scott family and their subsidiary, Great Scott Broadcasting, Inc., eventually becoming the flagship property of that company. For much of its early existence it operated as a daytime-only station, offering a full-service format that included music in adult contemporary, oldies, and adult standards genres, alongside local news, high school sports, local talk programs, church service broadcasts, and remote programming. Following the death of founder Herb Scott in 1984, Great Scott Broadcasting gradually redirected its focus toward FM properties, selling AM stations in Ohio and western Pennsylvania while acquiring signals in the Delmarva region. Corporate operations were later relocated to Delaware as Mitchell Scott assumed control. WPAZ ceased operations on December 10, 2009, citing insufficient revenue and the company's prioritization of more profitable holdings. In early 2010, a community group calling itself the WPAZ Preservation Association formed with the goal of acquiring the dormant station. The effort succeeded, with the group announcing acquisition in late October 2010. The station subsequently resumed broadcasting under community ownership through Four Rivers Community Broadcasting Corporation, returning local radio service to the Pottstown area.
