The station serves as Colorado's secondary Emergency Alert System outlet and operates HD Radio technology with subchannel programming including classic country music on the HD2 channel. The station's studios are located in the greater metro area with transmission facilities on Mestaa'ehehe Mountain. Originally signed on air in December 1953 under a different call sign, the station transitioned to the KYGO call letters in 1980 when it adopted the country music format. The station was recognized as Country Music Station of the Year in 2007 by Radio & Records magazine in the top 25 market category. Programming includes various local shows, community engagement initiatives, performance studio segments, and podcasts featuring country music artists and industry discussions.
