Operating at 105.5 MHz and owned by Cumulus Media, WWCK-FM has broadcast a top 40 contemporary hit radio format since 1989. Its transmitter is located east of downtown Flint near the intersection of Dort Highway and Interstate 69, sharing facilities with its AM sister station WWCK. The signal reaches west to Lansing, south to Pontiac, east to Imlay City, and north to Bay City. The station traces its history to 1964, when 105.5 FM launched as WMRP-FM with a beautiful music format under Methodist Radio Parish ownership. Following a sale in 1971, the call letters changed to WWCK in tribute to Windsor, Ontario's influential CKLW, and the station moved through AOR and rock formats. By 1985 it was recognized as the top-rated rock station in the United States, and its local programming received Billboard Magazine recognition. Filmmaker Michael Moore hosted a Sunday night program on the station from 1980 to 1985. The shift to CHR/Top 40 came later, establishing the format the station continues to carry today under the CK 105.5 brand.
