A non-commercial, public and community radio station broadcasting on 670 AM, classified as a Class A station on the clear-channel frequency of 670 kHz. The station came on the air in 1975 and is licensed to the Dillingham Public School District, which holds the broadcasting license and retains full management authority. Unlike most public broadcasters, the station does not grant contributors a direct vote in management or programming decisions, though it conducts annual fund-drives. Programming combines nationally distributed NPR shows, Alaska Public Radio Network content, local news, and music. The station offers several services tailored to the needs of its remote community: Open Line, a listener call-in program; Bristol Bay Messenger, a messaging service for residents in isolated areas; the Trading Post, an on-air classified service for items for sale or trade; and Economic Opportunities, which announces job openings from private employers and fishermen. The station also carries the syndicated weekly Pink Floyd program Floydian Slip. Programming is repeated on co-owned KIGG in Igiugig and KTOG in Togiak, as well as on KNSA in Unalakleet, a station owned by Unalakleet Broadcasting. These relay arrangements extend the reach of public radio programming to multiple remote Alaskan communities in the Bristol Bay and surrounding regions.
