A commercial FM radio station broadcasting at 97.3 MHz under the brand "97.3 Nash FM," operated by Cumulus Media. The station originally signed on in February 1961 as KDMI under Richards & Associates, Inc., making it one of the rare stand-alone FM stations of an era when FM radio ownership was uncommon. From the 1970s through the early 1990s, KDMI broadcast a Christian radio format before being acquired by American Radio Systems in 1993. On January 7, 1994, the station launched a country music format under new call letters and the branding "97.3 KHKI, Hawkeye Country," a reference to the University of Iowa's team name. Over subsequent years the station rebranded through "The Hawk 97-3" and "97.3 The Hawk" before converting to the Nash FM format on May 24, 2013, as part of Cumulus Media's initiative to rebrand most of its country-formatted properties under the Nash FM umbrella. Studios are located in Urbandale, Iowa, alongside other Cumulus properties. The transmitter sits on Northwest 100th Street on the Grimes-Johnston border, operating at an effective radiated power of 105,000 watts — a grandfathered level above Iowa's typical FM station maximum — due to the station's history predating current power limits. Weekday programming features local DJs alongside nationally syndicated Nash FM shows including "Nash Nights Live" and "The Blair Garner Show," with "Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40" airing on weekends.
