A non-commercial FM radio station owned by Lehigh University and co-operated with Lehigh Valley Public Media, the same organization that licenses PBS affiliate WLVT-TV. The station transmits from the Lehigh University campus at 40 watts horizontal and 200 watts vertical effective radiated power, with studios co-located with WLVT-TV at the Univest Public Media Center on the SteelStacks Campus in the south side of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. HD Radio technology is employed for digital broadcasting. Programming centers on public radio content from NPR, including flagship offerings such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered, supplemented by Marketplace from American Public Media, 1A, The World, and BBC World Service. Weekend programming features Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me, The Moth Radio Hour, Ask Me Another, and You Bet Your Garden. A local news team of multimedia journalists produces original regional coverage for the Lehigh Valley. A digital subchannel, WLVR-HD-2, carries student-run programming from Lehigh University spanning active rock, alternative rock, hip hop, jazz, world music, and additional genres. The HD-2 subchannel has earned the Lehigh Valley Music Award for best College/Community Radio Station in three consecutive years. Both streams are available for online listening. In 1972, program director Jim Cameron received a Major Armstrong Award from Columbia University for the documentary "Old Friends."
