Student-run non-commercial college radio station operated by the University of Massachusetts Amherst, serving the Connecticut River Valley region including western Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, and southern Vermont. Established in 1948, the station celebrated its 70th anniversary of continuous on-air broadcasting during the 2017-2018 school year. It provides eclectic programming combining music shows with talk programs, sports broadcasts covering university athletics, and student-produced daily newscasts. The station maintains 24/7/365 broadcasting with an online stream plus WMUAx, a secondary online-only stream launched in September 2017. Sports programming includes coverage of Minutewomen and Minutemen athletics, while news operations represent one of the nation's remaining daily student-run news broadcasts.
