Balearic FM

The station, launched in 2019, functions as an exclusively online platform, broadcasting house music with an emphasis on the sound and spirit associated with the Balearic Islands. Its mission is to provide a continuous stream of house music, reflecting a global network of DJs who contribute sets from various locations. The name itself, while evoking a physical location and traditional broadcast technology, signifies a dedication to the musical heritage of the Balearics and the classic warmth of dance music. Programming is centered on house music, encompassing a broad spectrum of its sub-genres. This includes deep house, soulful house, organic house, progressive house, old and nu-disco, and tech house. DJs are also given the freedom to incorporate full-on techno sets periodically. The station maintains a clear distinction from mainstream music, "EDM," top-40, and urban/hip-hop, though it may feature house-oriented remixes of popular songs. All programming is delivered through a combination of live DJ sets and pre-recorded mixes, ensuring continuous music availability. As of mid-2025, the station had over 750 recorded sets in rotation, with new content added weekly. The station operates without a central physical studio, relying on its distributed network of DJs. It is owned and operated by an organization incorporated in the United States, utilizing Linux virtual servers and AzuraCast broadcast software. Audio distribution is managed via content delivery networks to ensure global accessibility. While physically located online, the station lists its location as Ibiza in internet radio directories to align with its musical identity and target audience seeking Ibiza-style music. The venture is currently non-revenue generating, funded by its owners and DJs who contribute out of a passion for house music.
