Originally developed by Grace Bible Institute as part of its educational mission, the station began as a weekly broadcast program before establishing as an independent FM station in 1966. Through multiple ownership transitions and format changes, it has expanded coverage from its initial modest range to a 120-mile broadcast area. The station has undergone significant infrastructure upgrades, including installation of a 1,200-foot transmission tower in 1990.
