The station serves as Colorado's secondary Emergency Alert System outlet and operates HD Radio technology with subchannel programming including classic country music on the HD2 channel. Originally signed on air in December 1953 under a different call sign, the station transitioned to the KYGO call letters in 1980 when it adopted the country music format.
