Broadcasting on 102.5 FM, this adult contemporary station is licensed to Moore County, North Carolina, and owned by Meridian Communications LLC, with programming drawn from Premiere Radio Networks. The station traces its origins to 1973, when it first signed on at 107.1 MHz with a 3,000-watt signal as the first FM outlet in Moore County. Its earliest programming blended top-40 music during morning drive time with easy listening through the remainder of the broadcast day. Around 1987 the frequency shifted to 106.9 MHz and the format moved toward a softer easy listening sound. In 1995 the station relocated to its current 102.5 FM dial position, occupying a frequency that had previously been held by WAHP, though the move entailed a significant power reduction from 50,000 to 6,000 watts. The present call letters and adult contemporary format were both adopted in 1999. In addition to its music programming, the station provides local news coverage for the Sandhills region, including sports scores, weather alerts, and community news from Moore and surrounding counties.
