Owned and operated by Hubbard Broadcasting, it transmits from Telefarm Towers in Shoreview, Minnesota, with studios situated on University Avenue along the St. Paul–Minneapolis boundary. The station's origins trace to WIXK-FM, originally licensed to New Richmond, Wisconsin, where it simulcast a country music format. Hubbard acquired the station in 2000 for $27 million and relocated its operations to the Twin Cities market. In 2002 it adopted a talk format under the WFMP call sign, initially branded as "FM 107" with programming aimed at female audiences, featuring nationally syndicated advice and lifestyle programs. The myTalk 107.1 identity was established in February 2010, bringing a lineup of locally produced shows centered on celebrity news, pop culture, and relationship topics. Over the years the schedule has featured long-running programs including the Lori and Julia afternoon drive show, Jason and Alexis, and the Bradley and Dawn morning program, along with entertainment news coverage and audience engagement through social media and YouTube content.
