North Carolina's premier college radio station, originated in 1922 as the third broadcasting station in the state and second in the region. The student-run, non-commercial station broadcasts with 25,000 watts, serving the Research Triangle and surrounding areas with a freeform format encompassing indie rock, electronic music, hip-hop, heavy metal, and jazz. Students hold all operational roles from DJs to general management.
