Licensed to the State University of New York at Oswego, this non-profit public radio network operates from studios in the Penfield Library on the SUNY Oswego campus. Its multi-station network covers more than 20 counties across central and northern New York, with the flagship at 89.9 FM supplemented by full-power repeaters WRVD in Syracuse, WRVH in Clayton, WRVN in Utica, and WRVJ in Watertown, as well as low-power translators serving Geneva, Hamilton, Ithaca, Norwich, and Watertown. Programming draws from NPR, American Public Media, Public Radio Exchange, and the BBC World Service. Weekday schedules include Morning Edition, Fresh Air, Here & Now, 1A, All Things Considered, and The Capitol Pressroom. Weekend offerings feature This American Life, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, The Moth Radio Hour, New Yorker Radio Hour, TED Radio Hour, and Travel with Rick Steves, among others. Each evening from 10:00 p.m. to midnight, the network broadcasts Tuned to Yesterday, a program of classic radio dramas from the 1930s onward. Shorter feature programs include BirdNote, airing weekday mornings, and StarDate, a weekday astronomy segment. The network also produces original regional news content and the Campbell Conversations public affairs program. WRCU 90.1 FM in Hamilton and WSUC-FM 90.5 FM in Cortland carry WRVO programming during drive time and off-hours.
