The station signed on air on November 15, 1964, and was originally owned and operated by the Sarasota-Charlotte Broadcasting Corporation as a daytimer, required to cease operations after sunset. It was acquired by The Murray Broadcasting Company in 1993, which renovated the studios and installed modern equipment and digital sound technology. Operated by Fiorini Broadcasting, LLC. As 1530 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A station WCKY in Cincinnati, power is reduced at night to one watt to prevent interference. Programming airs 24 hours daily through two FM translator frequencies at 98.1 MHz and 107.5 MHz, featuring nationally syndicated conservative talk shows and weekend specialty programming.
